Lama Lobtstul will lead the Practice of the Medicine Buddha, the "River of Lapis Lazuli," has been extracted and compiled from the Nam Chö Nyid, a precious terma revelation of the Tertön Migyur Dorje.
Through this practice, we pay homage to Medicine Buddha, the Healing Master of Lapis Lazuli Radiance, whose body is a distinctive Deep Blue color. Medicine Buddha is also known as Bhaisajya Guru or Sangye Menla, the manifestation of the healing energy of all enlightened beings.Prayers will be offered to request the blessing of Medicine Buddha to heal diseases, overcome obstacles, and to achieve temporary and ultimate happiness for all beings. If you or someone you know is sick or suffering, we encourage you to submit their name(s) for our prayers during the retreat (in person or via email to info@palri.org). When requesting prayers, it is customary to make an offering on the sick person’s behalf; the act and intention are much more important than the amount. If you are attending the retreat, feel free to bring candles, incense, or flowers for offerings.If you have a singing bowl, feel free to bring it for the retreat.
Schedule Friday, October 28, 7pm - 9pm Practice session for the “River of Lapis Lazuli.” Saturday, October 29, 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 5pm Practice session Sunday, October 30, 10am - 12pm and 2pm - 5pm Practice session, concluding in the afternoon session with Riwo Sangchod (please bring offerings of flour, sugar, rice, beans, barley, honey for the fire puja)
While it is best to attend the entire retreat, it is also fine to attend as much as your schedule permits. Suggested offering for individual practice sessions, $10.
